1. Ordinary negative stems

Compare गर्छु→गर्दिनँ / पढ्छु→पढ्दिनँ, and with we गर्दैनौं/पढ्दैनौं.
Habitual action negatives are not made by appending होइन or छैन to a complete affirmative verb.

2. Negatives with nasalization

Learn the nasalized shapes खान्छु→खाँदिनँ / जान्छु→जाँदिनँ / आउँछु→आउँदिनँ.
Final nasalization in गर्दिनँ belongs to the first-person form, distinct from ordinary third-person गर्दैन.

3. Respectful -नुहुन्न

Use तपाईं गर्नुहुन्न (you do not do it, respectful) / उहाँ पढ्नुहुन्न (he/she does not read, respectful) / उहाँहरू जानुहुन्न (they do not go, respectful).
Respectful affirmative -नुहुन्छ contrasts with negative -नुहुन्न.
Translating उहाँ as she does not license a lower-grade feminine verb.

4. Present versus past negative

म जाँदिनँ (I do not/will not go) means I do not/will not go; म गएनँ (I did not go) means I did not go.
Negative past forms have variants; use the गरेनँ-series forms taught in the tables here.
A time word alone does not convert one tense to another.

5. कहिल्यै with negation

म कहिल्यै चुरोट खाँदिनँ (I never smoke) gives a never statement. कहिल्यै combines with a negative for never and can mean ever in a question; the word alone does not supply the entire negative meaning.
