1. Attributive versus predicative

राम्रो किताब (a good book) is a good book; किताब राम्रो छ (the book is good) states that the book is good.
Compare noun phrase + हो in यो राम्रो किताब हो (this is a good book) with adjective + छ in यो किताब राम्रो छ (this book is good).

2. The -ओ/-ई/-आ pattern

Compare राम्रो छोरा (a good son) / राम्री छोरी (a good daughter) / राम्रा साथीहरू (good friends).
This adjective class alternates ओ/ई/आ according to agreement.
A noun ending in आ is not automatically feminine; learn the actual noun–adjective combinations.

3. Invariable adjectives

सुन्दर, सफा, व्यस्त do not follow the राम्रो alternation.
Compare सुन्दर घर (a beautiful house) / सुन्दर फूल (a beautiful flower).
Invariance of the adjective does not remove verb agreement: म व्यस्त छु (I am busy) / हामी व्यस्त छौं (we are busy).

4. Related agreeing forms

Compare मेरो छोरा (my son) / मेरी छोरी (my daughter) / मेरा साथीहरू (my friends), कस्तो/कस्ती/कस्ता, and जस्तो/जस्ती/जस्ता.
Possession, interrogation and similarity also show agreement. मेरी is not selected because the possessor is female.

5. Honorific and plural-looking agreement

Honorific noun phrases can use forms resembling plural agreement.
Learn complete combinations, including basic उहाँ राम्रो हुनुहुन्छ (he/she is a good person, respectful) and noun modifiers such as राम्रा शिक्षक (good teachers/a respected good teacher, depending on context).
The ending आ alone does not establish the number of people.
